Special Needs SUP Lessons
Stand Up Paddle boarding is a great sport for special needs kids and adults. It’s fun, easy and gives participants great confidence in themselves. We currently run Neuro Paddle sessions in Perth. The aim is to use SUP to help engage and rehabilitate people living with neurological conditions.
Neuro Paddle is for anyone who has neurological conditions or disabilities include any of the following:
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Cerebral Palsy
- Functional Neurological Disorder
- Amputation or
- Mental Health Disorder
We also find it’s a great sport for people with dyspraxia, autism and many other special needs. For children with severe special needs, it can even be fun just to sit on the board and be paddled around. Kids (and adults!) can also start by kneeling if they are unable to stand or worried about falling in.
