Suns SUP are best described as a cruising all rounder.
It’s an ideal first board if you mainly want a cruising SUP for flat water or general ocean paddling. But if you want to occasionally try your luck in some surf, they can catch waves and turn in small surf at places like Cottesloe or Mettams.
They are a little narrower than some of the other entry level boards. This makes them ideal for women or for people who think they’d like to do SUP for a little bit of fitness.
Suns is designed by Dylan Burger, the son of Bert Burger (Head Designer and Owner of Sunova – a premium Western Australian Surf and SUP brand). With strong local design input, they particularly suit Western Australia’s climate and conditions.
The outline is a bit longer and narrower than usual entry level SUP boards. This gives it better glide and makes it easier to paddle. You’ll find these boards a more efficient paddler than some of the wider entry level SUPs.
Whilst the outline is slightly narrower, it does hold the width for more of the board. This means it’s still very stable for it’s size and still suits someone at entry level.
Suns SUP are made in the same factory as Sunova, so they have the same high level of quality control as Sunova production. Suns use a hybrid glass composite for construction. This provides a strong, durable SUP board at an affordable price.
The Suns boards all come with full deck grip. This makes them more comfortable and resistant to damage. The full deck grip particularly suits entry level SUP riders or people who want to paddle with kids or dogs.
The Suns SUP range includes four entry level boards and one soft top.
We also have a 10’4 x 33 soft top which suits families and beginners.
