The rear wings of a foil are designed to give you stability. Short rear wings are more agile, more manoeuvrable and faster. But they compromise stability and ease of use. All the Axis S-Series carbon rear wings can be used for both surf, SUP surf and downwind.
Axis 50 Carbon Rear Wing – Ideal for entry level and intermediate riders, it’s the most stable of the rear wings. This will go best with the larger Axis front wings (102cm and 92cm).
Axis 44 Carbon Rear Wing – An all round rear wing that will be good for your first year or two. It’ll feel looser than the 50cm rear wing and once mastered, you may then progress on to the 40. This will often suit 70-90kg riders.
Axis 40 Carbon Rear Wing – For experienced foilers who have had at least a season or two of foiling. This is the high performance and most ‘turny’ wing. It’ll pair best with the 75cm and 68cm front wings, but can also loosen up a bigger wing. Shortening your fuselage can also make your ride looser.
The Axis Foil S-Series carbon rear wings are very popular. We stock the entire range of Axis rear foil wings for SUP and surf.
A key advantage of AXIS S-Series Foils is that the front wings, rear wings and components are interchangeable. You can keep on adding different size masts, front wings, rear wings or fuselages as you progress. The modular design and stiffness let you use them for a variety of foiling purposes – surf, SUP, downwind or wake.
