This is the latest 2020 surf SUP foilboard from an all star Australian design & testing team – Bert Burger, James “Jimmy” Casey and Marcus Tardrew.
Compared to the 2018 surf SUP foilboards, these boards are shorter and thicker. The end result is less surface tension, which makes it much easier to use and handle than the earlier models. Being shorter, it’s also easier to turn on the wave face.
The Sunova surf SUP foil board is a foil specific board.
- It’s a lot shorter and wider than your standard SUP board.
- It doesn’t have fin boxes for normal SUP riding.
- It has large, chimed rails, so that it easily bounces back up when you touch down.
- It has a squared off nose to get the board length as short as possible. This reduces your chance of ‘touchdowns’ and lets the board turn more easily on a wave face.
