Stand Up Surf Shop was born out of passion. Founder Mike Galvin had always loved his water sports, and once he discovered stand up paddle boarding, he was hooked. Mike wanted a good excuse to immerse himself in the sport and share the stoke. So he set up the first shop to focus solely on SUP’s in WA. And he surrounded himself with a ‘family’ that are just as passionate about the sport as himself.

We have over 30 SUP boards to demo and try for free. This includes all rounders, beginner, surf, inflatable, women and kids boards.
Stand Up Surf Shop - Since 2009
After a careful start at the back of Windshack (a windsurfing shop) in 2009, Stand Up Surf Shop moved to its current location five years later. The shop was 3 x the size of the original shop and enabled us to have 200+ SUP boards in stock.

Every single one of our staff is carefully selected for their knowledge, expertise and love of stand up paddle boarding. When we’re not in the shop, you’ll find us on the water.

Mike 'Galvo' Galvin
Galvo started the shop 10 years ago and is still as amped about the sport as a frothing grommet. You’re more like to find him on the water than in the shop!
SUP Guru
Marcus Tardrew
Marcus jumps on everything ocean related, so when SUP started, he was one of the first. He’s a lead designer of Sunova stand up paddle boards and has won five State SUP racing titles.

Silv’s a regular on the podium in SUP surfing and just a super kind and fun person to be around. She’s been with the shop for years, but if you think you see her everywhere, just know that she has a twin!

It’s pretty handy having a de Araujo clone! Not surprisingly, Monica’s also a legend in SUP surfing, and her eyes light up whenever she is on the water foiling. Mon has been a part of the SUP community for years. With her warm approachable nature, she is awesome to have in the shop.

Cracker Jac
