Getting hooked on foiling
The Foil Shop was born out of a love for water sports. We were (and still are) stand up paddlers, kitesurfers, windsurfers and surfers. So when a new sport came along, well, we had to give it a try. We got totally hooked on foiling!
Foiling is such a different feeling to other watersports. Flying so quietly over the water is really quite magical. It lets you get on the water more and have so much fun in conditions that you previously considered barely worth going out in. And the joy of learning a totally new sport just brings out the grommet in you.

Mike 'Galvo' Galvin
Galvo started the shop over 15 years ago with the pure goal of simply wanting to share the stoke that he feels. You’re more like to find him on the water than in the shop!
Chief Frother (Manager)
David 'Sewelly' Sewell
Sewelly has been in the SUP industry for a long time and is a co-owner in our sister store Surfland Scarborough. He fancies himself as a big wave SUP surfer but he has no photographic evidence to prove it…
He is also a genuinely nice bloke who aims to get you on the right SUP or Foil gear the first time.

Wonder Twin
Silvia de Araujo
Silvia’s warmth and vibrant personality shine through in the shop. As a state champion SUP surfer, she brings a wealth of experience to the SUP community but has also embraced wing foiling like a natural. She has been instrumental in helping hundreds of crew get in the water over the years.

Monica McNab
Just like her twin sister, she’s renowned in the world of SUP surfing. Hailing from Brazil, she’s been windsurfing since childhood. Three years ago, she ventured into wing foiling and hasn’t looked back since, completely captivated by the sport. Mon also holds the title of former SUP Australian champion. With her welcoming and approachable demeanor, she’s a fantastic addition to the shop.

Lachy Putt
Lachie may be young, but his expertise in foiling and level of maturity far surpass his years. He’s been actively windsurfing and sailing since the tender age of 8! For the past four years, he’s been deeply immersed in foiling and actively participated in IQFoil windsurfing competitions at both state and national levels.
Product Guru
Liam Pabbruwe
Liam has been sailing for over half of his life and ventured into wing foiling just two years ago. His preferred spots for foiling are Corros and Port beach. Eager to assist, Liam is exceptionally knowledgeable about our range of foils and is always ready to lend a hand.
